The book examines the socio-political and economic processes that took place in the North Caucasus, Crimea and the Northern Black Sea region in the XVIII – 60 years XIX centuries, which involved the peoples living in these regions. Nogai societies involved in the process of confrontation between the Russian Empire, the Ottoman port and the Crimean Khanate, seeking to dominate in these places, as well as the circumstances of the adaptation of these societies to the Russian sovereign order are examined. The panoramic history of the Nogais of the North Caucasus, Crimea and the Northern Black Sea Region is presented in the context of their interpretation in the Russian Empire; the nature of the Nogai-Kalmyk and Nogai-Crimean relations is analyzed, and the reasons for the transition of the Nogai hordes to the Crimean protectorate are revealed. The socio-economic situation of Nogai societies and their demographic state in the period of vassal dependence on the Ottoman and Crimean authorities are determined; an analysis of the specifics of Russian nomad management was undertaken, and it was proved that the efforts of the Russian authorities created acceptable forms of nomad management in the historical period under consideration. The paper presents a translation into Russian of the folklore monuments of the Nogais, which made it possible to consider the events studied through the prism of folk historical memory. Military-political and socio-economic collisions are shown, the participants of which were Nogai nomads living in the steppe regions of the North Caucasus, Crimea and the Northern Black Sea Region in the XVIII – 60s of the XIX century.
