Many-sided personality of the famous writer and social figure Nikolai Chernyshevsky (1828-1889) is in the focus of the research work conducted by the author. Chernyshevsky was one of the most prominent figures in the political fight for the serfdom abolishing in Russia. Having studied a number of archival documents the author makes a contradictory conclusion that Chernyshevsky was the first anarchist who supported the socialistic ideas about the structure of the society.
