The newspaper "Tkvarcheli Miner" is a symbol of the inflexibility and heroism of the fighters of the Eastern Front and the residents of Tkuarchal during the Patriotic War in Abkhazia (1992–1993), which, despite fierce pressure from the occupying Georgian forces, remained unconquered. During the war, only 40 issues were published.
