The publication offered to readers is largely based on little-known and previously unpublished materials. The book contains a biography of N. V. Antonov (1907–1948), who distinguished himself as a border guard sailor in the Pacific Ocean, defended Tallinn and Leningrad in the Baltic Sea, and commanded the Onega and Red Banner Amur Flotillas. For the battles during the liberation of Petrozavodsk in the summer of 1944 he was awarded the Naval Order of Ushakov, II degree, and for breaking the Amur Flotilla with battles along the Sungari River to Harbin he was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union.
The book is about the hostilities in Karelia in 1941 and the activities of the Onega Flotilla (1941–1944), which provided support to the ground forces and transportation along Lake Onega. At the same time, the author focuses on the role of N.V. Antonov in the liberation of the capital of Karelia.
