Novogrudok became the second city in Belarus after Polotsk, which in 2012 joined the Covenant of Mayors, committing itself to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 20 percent by 2020. The region has already implemented several energy-efficient programs and projects for the introduction of renewable energy sources. Purpose: To help the district executive authority and the local community to develop the accumulated experience in introducing renewable energy sources, which will help reduce the burden on the ecology of the region. Intermediate results: The project provides for the preparation of six feasibility studies (TEO), which will be used as proposals for potential investors. A feasibility study has been developed for the reconstruction of the boiler house in Novogrudok - it is planned to install equipment using local fuels there. An example of the spread of green technology in the region will be a pilot project for the reconstruction of the hot water supply system in the Novogrudok District Hospital. Heat pumps, solar thermal and photovoltaic panels will be installed here.
