This collection of works embraces a broad area of archaeological problems pertinent to Central and
East Asia. Chronologically, the included papers cover the time span from Paleolithic through Middle
Ages. Yet particularly noteworthy is the fact that most of the authors approach their objectives
with a plethora of innovative methods borrowed from such scientific fields as chemistry, biology,
physics, and IT, often in combination, integrated into the methodologies traditionally employed by
archaeologists.
