The book for the first time brings together information about all monuments which existed in the Russian Empire. In contains description of 915 monuments. Besides, there is information on 680 erected and 212 would-be monuments to Alexander II, which refer to 1911-1916. The appendix contains data on more than 170 monuments: unrealized or unfinished projects, religious monuments, national monuments of western remote areas of Russia.
