A study is presented that systematically reveals the problems and opportunities for the development of the mining and chemical complex of Russia. Using the example of the leading representatives of the Russian mining and chemical complex (PhosAgro PJSC, Acron PJSC, MCC EuroChem JSC, Uralkali PJSC), the resource potential of the mineral fertilizer production sector was assessed, the main financial indicators of leading manufacturers were determined, a comparative analysis of companies and the main forms of their interaction are considered. The supply and demand for three types of mineral fertilizers over the past few years has been analyzed. In relation to the mining industry, key digitalization trends have been identified, including: automation, robotization, Internet of things, big data, real-time data, machine learning, artificial intelligence and 3D printing. The corporate social responsibility (CSR) of mining and chemical enterprises in the Murmansk region is considered in detail as a factor in the sustainable development of local communities in Arctic single-industry towns. It is shown that the corporate social policy of large mining and chemical enterprises in the Murmansk region meets the requirements of scale and complexity, and specific CSR measures are focused on satisfying the interests of the main stakeholders. The main trends in the external and internal directions of the company's social responsibility policy have been identified.
