Mikhail Petrovich Stanyuta (Belarusian Mikhail Pyatrovich Stanyuta; 1881-1974) was a Belarusian Soviet painter, portrait painter, graphic artist, and teacher. Member of the All-Belarusian Association of Artists, All-Belarusian Association of Bibliophiles (1927-1929). Father of the Belarusian Soviet actress Stefania Stanyuta. MP Stanyuta worked mainly in easel painting (thematic painting, portrait, landscape, still life) and graphics. Subject-thematically, the canvases are distinguished by the relevance of the subject, expressiveness of composition and drawing, generalization of form, pastosity and color saturation: “Glass Factory” (1924), “Concrete Workers” (1927), “Construction of the University Campus” (1928), “On Construction” (1929) ), "Foundry" (1931).
A significant place in the artist's work is occupied by a portrait: "Refugee", "Self-portrait" (both 1921), "Portrait of a daughter" (1923), "Portrait of the artist M. Filippovich" (1925), "Student" (1927), "Drummer" ( 1928), "Belorus" (1944), "Boy in a Cap" (1949), "Portrait of an Old Man" (1952), "Kolkhoz Woman" (1961).
M.P. Stanyuta painted a number of landscapes: Twilight, Evening (both 1920), Roads and Spruces (1923), Destroyed Minsk (1944), Central Square (1951), Winter in the Park » (1965).
