Adam Glushkovsky was a Russian ballet dancer, choreographer and teacher. A.P. Glushkovsky created over 30 ballets. His work had a great influence on the development of the Russian choreography of the XIXth century. In this book the author describes his recollections of Moscow during the Great Patriotic War of 1812, the Russian ballet school at the turn of the XIXth century, theatrical life in evacuation, home theaters, etc. The author gives interesting information about great artists not only of Moscow and St. Petersburg ballets, but also of some provincial theaters.
