In recent years, the term “ecosystem” has been actively used in various scientific disciplines to show the scale of transformations and signs of interaction between different directions in a particular industry. This concept is also used in relation to modern mass media, which are at the stage of reform in the 21st century. The modern media system has a whole range of interacting areas that are subject to convergent integration processes at the stage of digitalization, which classifies mass media as a self-developing institutional system or, more precisely, as an ecosystem. The monograph substantiates a number of the most important issues that influence the reform of the media system, revealing the signs of media genesis, which justifies the use of the term “ecosystem”.
