The publication is a free continuation of the series Man and His Language and seeks to present the work of Jan Horecky as a source of inspiration for further research into language and terminology in historical and systemic terms. To this end, the compilers present a selection of studies and texts by J. Horecky, in which the author reflected on key terminological and onomasiological issues, such as theoretical issues of terminology, the relationship of term and concept, onomasiological aspects of terminology or semantic relationships in terminology, its interlingual research and stabilization. Slovak terminology. The inspiring potential of J. Horecky's works is pointed out in J. Levicka's study of Slovak terminology in the context of the linguistic and social situation of the 1960s and in M. Zumrik's study, in which he compares Horecky's understanding of the term with the procedural theory of the term. The specificity of this volume is the bilingual Slovak-English elaboration, the aim of which is to mediate the terminological thinking and work of Professor Jan Horecky not only to Slovak but also to foreign readers.
