After 1989, petty thieves and disco fighters often became feared bosses, controlling entire regions. Of interest among them were three family clans - Holanovci - Misenkovci - Mellovci. The cards they deal are still played today. They cooperated with the Russian and Balkan mafias, but also worked for the secret service of the mysterious deputy Svechot. Three of them perished, the other three experienced many years of life on the run. Two have recently been sentenced to severe sentences, only Karol Mello still lives on an exotic island.
