The questions of some distinctive poetic genres are examined in this book on the bases of the, mouth-to-mouth folklore traditions folk art and fiction of the 19th-20th centuries. Little known aspects of the scientific research of the Ukrainian specialist in study of literature and folklore are disclosed here for the first time. The book is compiled of more than 30 articles of different scholars who switches into the problem from various points of view. This allows to build up a vivid picture and good understanding of the ancient traditions, customs, rituals, myths folk songsand archetypes of the Ukrainian people.
