The literature of the ancient world is included in the first volume. It all starts with the Epic of Gilgamesh. In the form of this epic we have before us the oldest literary monument in the world. This epic was lost and was discovered in the nineteenth century as a result of excavations. Until then, it was believed that the first great texts in the form of the Iliad and Odyssey were left to us by Homer. Homer is the greatest author, naturally, we touched on a number of issues that scientists discuss under the name “Homeric Question”, talked about the persons of Achilles, Hector, Ayas, Odysseus and Agamemnon, the Trojan War, its reality and chronology, the participation of Georgians in it, etc.
