The author based on the bills and registers of plants, such sources as Topographical description of the provinces, Military-statistical review, Materials for geography and statistics of Russia, Notable books of the provinces, and also reports and reviews from periodical press presents a list of 709 distilleries in Russian and Ukrainian provinces in the XVIII century, 1659 in Russian and 2264 in “privileged” provinces in the XIX century. Such a list is quite useful for scientific analysis mostly of Russian regions, but the Ukraine, Belarus, Lithuania and Baltic states as well.
