The collection includes calendar, wedding, round dance songs, funeral laments and spiritual poems that exist in the song tradition of the Russian population of the mining villages of the Chelyabinsk region - the villages of Orlovka, Serpievka, Tyulyuk, Katav-Ivanovsky district, as well as in the village of Biyanka, Ashinsky district. The recording of musical samples was carried out by the author during folklore and ethnographic expeditions of 2000-2003. with the participation of students and teachers of the Department of Musical Folklore at the Chelyabinsk State Academy of Culture and Arts.
