Anatoly Spassky (1866-1916) is a remarkable Russian historian of Ancient Church and Professor of Moscow Religious Academy. The subject of his lectures covers the historical period of the Roman Empire from the early IVth century till the XIIth century. The author describes in detail everyday life and unions of German tribes, appearance of barbarian royalties in the epoch of the Great migration of peoples, history of the monarchy of Carle the Great. A.Spassky proves that it was the Church, which became the basis and support of the new state system in Europe and the collapse of the Roman Empire resulted from barbarian invasion.
