The publication is a collection of works by katibs — artisans who engraved inscriptions on stone. Compiled in a bio-bibliographic format, it includes biographical information supported by source materials, along with photographs and drawings of the inscriptions, which in many cases serve as the primary source of data. The catalog features over 250 names, from renowned calligraphers (khattats) specializing in memorial steles, to provincial stonecutters, religious figures, and craftsmen whose lives were closely tied to this tradition.
