The first study of the Kalmyk nuptial poetry. The author examines genre composition, plots, distinguishing features of Kalmyk nuptial referring also to folklore and ethnography sources of other Mongolian-speaking peoples. Here is traced evolution of poetical forms, revealed semantics of ancient wedding rituals. The second part of the title contains texts of Kalmyk nuptial verses and description of Kalmyk wedding ceremony.
