For almost 70 years the AK-47 assault rifle has been in service with the Russian army. Its extraordinary longevity is ensured by the implementation of the principles laid down in the design by Mikhail Timofeevich Kalashnikov: simplicity, reliability, efficiency. Based on modern scientific knowledge, the feasibility of choosing the type of automation engine, the layout of the sample, the assigned operating parameters of the nodes of the machine, their implementation in the design is shown. Measures that ensure increased combat effectiveness in the line of followers of the AK-47 machine are considered.
