At first abroad, then in the homeland of Michael Sholohov - in Russia - in different periods of time were published works, contesting the fact that M.A. Sholohov has really written the work 'Tikhii Don'. All the more, the archives have no manuscripts of the first and the second novel's volumes. The author of the book, the famous Moscow journalist, who dedicated the main part of his life to collecting the evidences of the friends and the acquaintances of Sholohov describing the process of creating the novel. He found the first, and the second volumes' manuscripts and versions written by the author.
