The re-edition "under one roof" of the Ukrainian translation of the poem by Johann Wolfgang Goethe "Reinecke the Fox" and Ivan Franko's poem "The Fox Nikita" introduces readers to two versions of the plot, common among many peoples of the world, about the adventurous tricks of the cunning fox. In the works of German and Ukrainian poets, having a common source, satirical intonations are reported. Despite the similarity of many situations, both works have clear signs of national and authorial originality. The text of the translation of the poem by J.-V. Goethe is published according to the Lvov edition of 1943, poems by I. Franko - according to the collected works of the writer in 50 volumes (K., 1976, v. 4). Translation of the poem by J.-V. Goethe's "Reinecke-Lis" is published according to a copy belonging to the family of Tatiana and Andrey Vorobkevich, for which the compiler expresses his sincere gratitude to them.
