The book is about the shrines of the ancient Ivanovo region. It describes the history of the existing and lost monasteries, temples and chapels of the Ivanovo-Ascension diocese, which includes the cities of Ivanovo, Viuga, Kokhma, Ivanovsky, Vichugsky, Privolzhsky and Furmanovsky municipal districts. This is the first part of a large three-volume edition. It is expected that in the future there will be prepared separate volumes about the Kineshma and Shuya dioceses.
