The monograph by the famous Russian researcher, Doctor of History, professor L.Y.Gusman deals with the reform, which was never carried out in Russia (1861-1881). The idea was to impose censorship on foreign publications in the country. The edition is based on recently revealed archival materials and sheds light on little known facts from biographies of the famous Russian prose and poetry writers Tiutchev, Maikov, Polonskii and some others, who worked as censors.
