The collection contains of research papers of the island territories of the Far East of Russia studies. It is devoted to a wide range of problems of actual historical, archaeological, ethnological and biogeographical research. The focus is on island cultures and societies, the process of their historical formation, the analysis of human-nature interaction, and the general and specific features of the development of some island communities throughout history. The study of small and medium-sized islands of the North Pacific Ocean - from the Gulf of Peter the Great to the Commander and Kuril Islands is in spotlight too. Cases of interdisciplinary interaction in the study of such complex objects as islands are also shown.
