The collective monograph is devoted to the 70th anniversary of Viktor Vinogradov. The main attention is paid to the comprehensive analysis of language in synchrony and in diachrony. A significant place is occupied by a cognitive approach to learning basic language levels (such as phonetics and phonology, morphology, syntax, text and discourse, lexicology, phraseology, etc.). The research was based on the material of languages belonging to different linguistic families and areas; special attention is paid to the nonliterate and the newly created written languages of Africa, which have always been in the focus of scientific interest of the jubilee.
