The book-album “Illustrated Manuscripts of Alisher Navoi Works in Istanbul Libraries” from the “Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan in the World Collections” series represents the unique manuscripts of Alisher Navoi (1441–1501), decorated with magnificent miniatures that are now kept in Istanbul. Alisher Navoi lived and worked under the Temurid ruler Sultan Hussein Baikara (1469–1506). At that time Herat was famous for its high art, which was a reference for the neighboring states, including the Ottoman Empire. As a result, the works of Navoi were copied in Istanbul or were brought to the city from Herat, Tabriz, Shiraz ... New lists of books were illustrated by Turkish-Persian miniature painters in Temurid, Safa- vid or Ottoman styles. The publication is intended not only for researchers, but also for a wide local and foreign audience, the younger generation interested in the rich cultural heritage of Uzbekistan. It should be emphasized that the project has proceeded thanks to the personal attention of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the issues of carefully preserving, enriching and augmenting the historical, cultural and intellectual legacy of the Uzbek people.
