In Jewish mysticism, the word "Ibbur" means pregnancy and refers to the temporary relocation of another extra soul to the body of a living person to perform a task. I felt that the souls of the Jews of Crete who were unjustly lost during the Nazi occupation of the island haunted me. So, as a kind of debt to them, I tried to collect in the form of testimony-chronicle narratives, documents and photographs so that the reader who is not familiar with the history of the island to understand their continuous presence since 1900, a presence which added much to the diversity of the social fabric, their unjust loss in 1944 and the adventure of the few who survived.
