The creative life of Y.Kruger, a teacher and founder of the most famous Art school in old Minsk, covers pre-Soviet period, the Belarusian national Renaissance of the 1920s and the pre-war decade. Each of these periods is marked by art works, which give evidence of changes occurring in the creative development of the artist. In the early XXth century these were portraits of Minsk intellectuals. Paintings of the 1920s -1930s reflected the tragic fate of the generation of Belarusian and Jewish artistic and cultural workers. The best artist's works have become today Belarusian classics.
