Vasyl' Podolynsky's "Slowo przestrogi" ("A Word of Warning") was written and sent to a printing shop in 1848, however only one printed copy has survived. Its main idea was the right of the Ukrainians to an independent political existence. This publication includes the original Polish text of this pamphlet as well as its Ukrainian translation, a foreword, and comments.
