This monograph is dedicated to the historical and cultural development of the population, dwelling on the territories to the west of Bug River. The research work in the monograph is limited to the IX-XIV centuries and presents the first attempt to bring together, classify and map the sites of the archeological excavations, related to the period of the Early Middle Ages, as well as to give the characteristics to the social-economic and cultural development of the region. Special attention is paid to the ethnic composition of population, defining the difference between Polish and Russian peoples.
