The book is dedicated to the 115-year history of the Afanasyevskaya district hospital of the Verkhnetoemsky district of the Arkhangelsk region. The author describes his own experience of working as a dentist, the experience of his colleagues - doctors and medical personnel of first-aid posts, district hospitals and the central district hospital. Archival materials and facts of the modern history of rural health care are presented, an analysis of its state in different periods of the country's development is given. The problems of training medical personnel, the peculiarities of providing medical assistance to rural residents, the organization of such assistance in Soviet times and in the new "market" conditions, author's comments and reflections - all this is reflected in the pages of the book. The book became a nominee of the competition for publishers and printers of the Arkhangelsk region "Book of the Year - 2020" in the special category "History of the labor collective".
