The monograph is one of the first in Russia research works on the problems of homelessness. It deals with social status of the homeless people, as well as reasons, factors and sources of homelessness. Basing on big sociological data, the authors present values, social behavior of this social group and principal characteristics of its mode of living. Special attention is paid to the role of official and non-governmental institutions in the solving of the problem of homelessness.
