On February 16, 2023, at the National Library of Belarus, on the initiative of the Embassy of the State of Israel in the Republic of Belarus, a presentation of the documentary publication “The Holocaust in Belarus: Tragedy and Memory” took place. The collection was prepared by the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus with the participation of the Department of Archives and Records Management of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus, the Embassy of the State of Israel in the Republic of Belarus and archival institutions of the republic.
The collection includes 517 documents that tell about the Nazi policy towards the Jewish population in the territory of occupied Belarus, its destruction, the post-war investigation of the crimes committed and the preservation of the memory of the victims of the Holocaust. The publication also includes appendices: “List of places of forced detention of Jews”, “List of places of mass extermination and deportation of Jews in the occupied territory of Belarus”, “List of places of forced detention and extermination of Jews immortalized on the Wall of Memory in the State Memorial Complex “Khatyn””.
