The book represents the first in the Russian historiography systematic analysis of the history of the Russian Orthodox pilgrimage to the centers of the Ecumenical Orthodoxy and sacred places. The monograph covers the period of the Xth-XVIIth centuries and is based on the Russian information sources and materials. The book is illustrated with pictures by I.G.Mashkov, an Honored painter of the Russian Federation. It also contains specially designed maps and plans, which help to discover the route of pilgrimage.
