The monograph by the well-known Lithuanian fine arts critic Laima Sinkunaite investigates the ways of portraiture development in Lithuania in the 17th century. The portrait is being analyzed considering the relationship between culture, personality and its image. Using typological method the author analyzes the research data on the history and nature as far as the personality is concerned. The reader can find a set of interesting conclusions made on the basis of performed work.
