The monograph is devoted to the study of the historical geography of the main (southern) part of the Pereyaslavl land during the second half of the 10th century - 1132 which was the time of addition, defensive and political flourishing of the land-reign. The study is based on a comprehensive analysis of chronicle and archaeological sources against the background of detailed landscape characteristics of the region. The main source of work is the remains of fortifications: this allows in many respects to clarify the course of the formation of the reigning land, the dynamics of its development and the localization of settlements.
