The collection of essays presents biographies of a number of prominent history professors of Rostov University who worked at the Faculty of History, the Interfaculty Department of Political History, and the Institute for Advanced Training at RSU. Together, they form a collective portrait of the History Faculty of Rostov State University, particularly during its flourishing in the second half of the 20th century. The essays also reflect, in a certain way, the development of the history and historiography of the Don region and the South of Russia as a whole.
