The book is the first in Georgian and Ukrainian historiography attempt to present the short biographies of more than 300 ethnic Georgians, who have received ranks of Generals in the period between 1699-1921. The majority in this list belongs to the military men, who reached the top of hierarchy on a service of the Russian Empire; at the same time there are people who became Generals in accordance with the orders of Temporary Government (1917), White Armies (1918-1920) and Georgian Democratic Republic (1918-1921). Among the characters of the book there are famous commanders and little-known persons, whose names are published for the first time. The edition is well illustrated with portraits and patrimonial arms images.
