Alexander Mikhailovich was an active statesman. He gave many years to the navy and the formation of the merchant fleet of Russia. He played a decisive role in the formation of Russian aviation, was the initiator of the creation of the first military aviation school in Kacha near Sevastopol in 1910, and was the chief of the Imperial Air Force. Participated in the First World War. Since December 1916 - Field Inspector General of the Military Air Fleet under the Supreme Commander-in-Chief. He made a great contribution to the development of domestic military aviation, including during the war.
Based on memoirs, letters from contemporaries, archival documents, the proposed edition presents the life of Grand Duke Alexander Mikhailovich and his family in the Crimea and in exile.
