The book is a record of many years of searching for traces of Witold Gombrowicz in Argentina, where the writer found himself in 1939 as a participant in the inaugural voyage of the ship "Chrobry" from Gdynia to Buenos Aires. Due to the outbreak of war, his stay on the other continent, planned for several months, was extended by twenty-four years, until 1969. This period was very difficult for the writer, and at the same time extremely colorful and interesting. It was a time of freedom at the price of incredible poverty, but also a time of rich social life and a struggle for the highest place in literature.
