The author of the book tries to follow the way that Dostoyevsky worked with materials for his novels. The periodical press, letters and even low-grade literature were the sources of information for Dostoyevsky. The author attempts to disclose and describe the laws that allowed to transform the materials used by this prominent personality into the results of his creative work.
