Beekeeper Mytro Ilkovych (November 5, 1902, Vyshniv - April 14, 1978, Philadelphia) - Ukrainian poet and writer. He was born on November 5, 1902 in the village of Vyshniv, Rohatyn district (Galicia) in a large family. At an early age he was left without a mother, raised in his uncle's family. He graduated from school, entered the gymnasium in Kolomyia), but his studies were interrupted by the war. He first worked on his father's farm, then joined the UGA. He was wounded. After the war he graduated from a teacher's seminary in Kharkiv, worked in Pervomaisk in the Kherson region (now the Nikolaev region). To avoid persecution, he returned to Galicia. He taught and was the librarian of the Prosvita reading room, one of the organizers of the drama group. In 1927 he emigrated to the United States and continued his teaching there. He also worked as a detective in the Crime Prevention Unit.
