On the occasion of the centenary of the birth of Cardinal Jan Chryzostom Korec (1924 - 2015) we bring our readers a new edition of his fundamental work Freedom as a Gift - or Destruction? Its contents are reflections on the state of human freedom at the beginning of the new millennium of Christianity, on its threat, on the responsibility that goes with freedom, and on conscience as the guardian of freedom.
