The author of the book Mikhail Demidenko is known as an adherent of the Oriental history, culture and religion. From 1949 to 1955 he was an interpreter of the National liberation army in China, joined Chinese volunteers in Korea, visited west Tibet. When later he became a professional writer (from 1966 having been a member of the Writers Union of the USSR) he several times visited China, Sri Lanka, Kampuchea and Germany. The author came across the unique documents which he used while writing this book.
