The monograph is devoted to the problem of studying culture of Sayano-Altai peoples, in particular the Altaians, Tuvans, and Khakass. It is an original innovate research that will enrich Turkic and folklore studies, ethnology and ethnopedagogics with new results and information. Noting integrity of various types and genres of culture, the author traces certain regularities in changes of traditions, the most important of which are transfer from communal rites to family ones, loss of religious-magic tint by rites and strengthening of their playing function. The work is based on scientific works by many pre-revolutionary, Soviet, and modern scientists, ethnographic and cultural materials.
