The monograph is devoted to the history of origin, formation and functioning of Russian pre-revolutionary exchanges. The author inquires into activities of stock committees, government policy in the sphere of exchange regulations, exchange legislation during the XVIIIth - the beginning of the XXth centuries. Special attention is paid to the role of St.Petersburg exchange as being the first and only one in the country for many years, as well as the main one determining directions of the Russian trade.
