The monograph is the result of in-depth systemic analysis of one of the general directions of devel¬opment in the world economy today — regional economic integration. On the basis of his study of inte¬gration processes in the world and in the Eurasian space the author explains the possibility and necessity of staged creation of a common market of EurAsEC countries, analogous to the European Union and which other countries in the post-Soviet space may also join in future. The book examines and analyses contemporary Eurasian integration over the last 20 years: from the beginning of re-establishment of mutual ties after the dissolution of the USSR and President of Kazakhstan NA Nazarbaycv's proposal in March 1994 of the 'Project for the Formation of the Eurasian Union of States' to the creation of an in¬ternal organisation IiurAsEC (Belarus. Kazakhstan. Kyrgyzstan. Russia and Tajikistan), the Customs Union, the Common Economic Space (CES), and ultimately — the Eurasian Economic Union.
