Eight decades after the death of the prominent Serbian writer, creative actor and theatre worker, Branislav Brane Cvetkovic (1875—1942), we have before us an edition of the selected works of this writer. Bearing in mind the volume and diversity of his literary work, but also the fact that it has been largely sidelined and forgotten in our previous literary-historical syntheses and research, the edition of Cvetkovic's selected works is of first-class importance for Serbian literary studies, as well as for Serbian publishing. The editor, Dr. Aleksandar Pejcic, prepared the entire edition with great textual reliability and sincere dedication to this demanding task, and he made adequate studies, comments and explanations of the included texts. Pejcic viewed Brano Cvetkovic as an unjustly marginalized and forgotten, but actually extremely creative, creative personality, as an actor, director, set designer, painter, poet, comediographer, storyteller, aphorist, caricaturist and essayist.
